In modern warfare, protecting secrets can matter as much as protecting soldiers. And for Australian cybersecurity firm ARCHTIS Ltd, a new contract with a major U.S. and European military alliance marks a significant moment in its evolution from niche software provider to trusted guardian of NATO-level information.

The Canberra-based company announced it has secured a contract valued at up to A$1.22 million over three years to provide its NC Protect software platform to secure military collaboration systems used by more than 2,500 personnel.

The deal reflects a broader shift in defense priorities, where protecting digital infrastructure has become central to military readiness.

Archtis shares climbed 9.52 percent to 9.2 cents following the announcement, giving the company a market value of about A$46.85 million, according to ASX trading data.

The Quiet Backbone of Military Collaboration

The contract is not about weapons or hardware. It is about information. Specifically, controlling who can access sensitive files inside systems like Microsoft SharePoint, where military personnel share intelligence, plans and operational data.

ARCHTIS’s NC Protect platform uses what is known as Attribute Based Access Control. In simple terms, this allows military organisations to precisely define who can view or edit information based on factors such as rank, mission role, location or nationality.

This is increasingly critical in multinational alliances where thousands of personnel across different countries must collaborate securely.

According to company information, archTIS was selected after a proof of concept demonstrated that traditional role-based security systems were insufficient for complex multinational defense environments.

Already Inside the U.S. Department of Defense

The contract builds on archTIS’s growing presence inside U.S. military systems.

The company confirmed its software is already deployed in live operational environments within the U.S. Department of Defense, one of the most demanding cybersecurity environments in the world.

This deployment aligns with the Pentagon’s Zero Trust security strategy, which assumes that threats can originate both outside and inside networks and therefore requires strict verification at every level.

Chief executive Daniel Lai said the contract validates archTIS’s role in securing mission-critical data.

“This contract highlights the importance of attribute based access control in enabling secure collaboration across multinational defense environments,” Mr Lai said.

He added that archTIS’s technology directly supports military alliances managing sensitive data across multiple organisations and jurisdictions.

Financial Firepower for Expansion

Alongside the contract, archTIS also strengthened its financial position by increasing its banking facility with Commonwealth Bank from A$2 million to A$8 million.

This expanded facility provides working capital to support contract delivery, product development and future growth initiatives.

Such financing upgrades are often seen as signals that lenders expect continued business expansion and stable revenue flows.

For a small technology company, access to funding without immediate equity dilution can be strategically important.

A Growing Role for Australian Cybersecurity

ARCHTIS’s rise reflects a broader trend in which Australian defense technology firms are gaining global relevance.

The initial contract covers the remainder of 2026, with extension options that could expand deployment and revenue through 2028.

While the immediate contract value is modest compared to large defense procurement programs, the strategic significance is substantial.
