Key Highlights
- Hits 25m at 36.83 g/t gold, including 2m at 444.3 g/t, highest bulk intercept recorded at Spring Hill
- Discovery defines new Macau Link Zone connecting Macau and Hong Kong lodes
- Zone remains open in all directions with multiple assays pending
- Stock jumps 18.1% to $0.685, volume well above average
- Shares up 90% in a month and 170% over one year
There are drill results that quietly add ounces, and then there are holes that change how a project is viewed.
Today, PC Gold delivered the latter.
Shares in PC Gold Ltd surged 18.1% to $0.685, with trading volumes jumping to 1.36 million shares, comfortably above the four week average. The move follows what management calls the most significant hole ever drilled at its flagship Spring Hill Gold Project in the Northern Territory.
The company reported a standout intercept of:
- 25 metres at 36.83 grams per tonne gold from 283m, including
2 metres at 444.3 g/t gold
For context, anything above 5 g/t is typically considered high grade in open pit mining. Grades above 30 g/t sit firmly in underground bonanza territory.
These are not narrow vein “spikes”. This is bulk tonnage scale mineralisation.
A new structure emerges underground
The results come from resource definition drilling that identified a previously unrecognised structure linking the Macau and Hong Kong lodes, now named the Macau Link Zone.

Five diamond holes across a 225 metre strike have all intersected visible gold within a continuous hematite magnetite unit, suggesting the system is coherent rather than isolated pockets.
Importantly, the zone sits beneath the planned open pit and close to an old underground adit, potentially giving the company earlier and cheaper access to high grade material.
Executive Chairman Ashley Pattison said:

The full technical details and drilling plan are outlined in the company’s ASX announcement.
Why this matters for Spring Hill
Spring Hill already hosts a 25.6 million tonne resource at 1.0 g/t gold, equating to more than 800,000 ounces at a 0.5 g/t cut off.
But this new discovery could materially reshape the economics.
High grade zones can:
- Lower upfront capital requirements
- Shorten payback periods
- Allow early underground mining
- Improve project margins
In simple terms, starting a mine with richer ore first often makes everything else easier.
The company now plans:
- Step out drilling along strike and down dip
- Underground drilling from the refurbished adit
- Modelling to incorporate the new domain into the resource estimate
- Studies on both underground and open pit mining options
- Four additional holes have already logged visible gold, with assays pending.
Market reaction speaks volumes
The market clearly took notice. PC Gold (ASX: PC2) shares were up by 18.1% at the time of writing this article.

Momentum has been building for weeks, but today’s move suggests traders are beginning to reprice Spring Hill’s potential.
The bigger picture
Gold explorers often talk about “new zones” and “extensions”. Few deliver grades like this.
The Macau Link Zone appears to convert what was once low grade inferred ground into something potentially mineable and valuable.
And with mineralisation still open in every direction, this discovery may only be the first chapter.
For a junior developer with a modest market cap, a single high grade domain can change everything. Today’s drilling suggests Spring Hill might have just found its engine room.
