At the Laverton Project, air core drilling in February 2024 revealed promising mineralization of gold and rare earth elements (REEs). There were two significant gold intervals identified: 1.07 g/t of gold at 49 meters and 2.42 g/t of gold at 75 meters.
The REE findings were equally impressive, with intervals such as 1 meter at 16,426 parts per million (ppm) total rare earth oxides (TREO) from 28 meters. The mineralization in Laverton is associated with veining and alteration within the NNW trending Barnicoat Shear Zone, with further air core drilling planned for mid-2024 to refine these targets.

In the Lachlan Fold Belt Project, particularly at Rock Lodge, Catalina Resources' (ASX: CTN) April 2022 RC drilling has uncovered multiple stacked gold and silver lenses. The deepest hole, SRLRC005, intersected four mineralized zones from 75 meters to 99 meters, with notable intervals including 2 meters at 2.13 g/t gold and 2 meters at 2.12 g/t gold.
This, combined with historical drilling data, indicates a wide (60 meters) mineralized envelope of stacked vertical lenses with polymetallic sulfide mineralization. The presence of elements such as bismuth, arsenic, copper, and zinc suggest high-temperature fluid activity.

The Dundas Project, located within the Albany Fraser Orogen, has also shown promising results. Air core drilling in December 2022 revealed high-grade TREO intersections, with Hole 22DAC095 reporting 3 meters at 0.92% TREO, including 1 meter at 1.78% TREO. Adjacent holes also displayed significant mineralization, reinforcing the project's potential.
These findings are noteworthy given the project's proximity to world-class lithium and gold deposits along the Boulder Lefroy Fault Zone and Zuleika Shear. The project’s tenements are within the Dundas Nature Reserve, requiring ministerial approval for a Conservation Management Plan (CMP) for further exploration phases.

The Nelson Bay Iron Project is another focal point in Catalina Resources' (ASX: CTN) portfolio. Originally developed from a Direct Shipping Ore (DSO) discovery in 2010 to production in 2013, the project has been on care and maintenance since June 2014. The current resources stand at 1.37 million tonnes of goethite-hematite DSO/BFO and 7.8 million tonnes of magnetite.
Plans are underway to restart the DSO project, which involves deepening the existing pit and minimal new clearing. The company is in the process of collecting baseline data as required by the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) guidelines, following the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act referral decision in November 2023.

The Kookynie West Project encompasses a folded sequence of dolerite and basalt, known geological settings conducive to gold mineralization. Recent mapping efforts have identified numerous pegmatite dykes within Catalina Resources' (ASX: CTN) E40/378 tenement, particularly notable on the western side.
Historical drilling campaigns have intersected gold-bearing structures along NNW trending faults intersecting the brittle granophyric dolerite. These intersections have yielded significant results, including grades up to 3 g/t Au, indicating extensive mineralization potential beyond current drill extents. Soil geochemistry surveys have further underscored the project's prospectivity, suggesting broader mineralization zones compared to previous drilling findings.

Catalina Resources' (ASX: CTN) strategy is centered on three core pillars:
The company has meticulously built a diverse portfolio of projects across highly prospective terrains. This strategic acquisition process includes identifying underexplored projects with high potential and securing their ownership.
By employing modern methods such as air core drilling and diamond drilling, the company aims to delineate resource-rich targets with precision. Upcoming drilling programs are planned for Laverton and Rock Lodge to further explore gold and REE mineralization.
The ultimate goal is to realize value through various pathways, including development, joint ventures, or asset sales. This involves continuous evaluation and prioritization of its project portfolio to ensure the best possible outcomes. The company has already demonstrated this approach by divesting the Arunta JV to MetalsGrove Mining Ltd, retaining significant exposure via shareholding.
Catalina Resources (ASX: CTN) has outlined a series of strategic actions to drive its projects forward:
